ChronoForms comes with a large set of form actions mostly written by Max, the ChronoForms owner and developer. Sometimes I write new actions, or variations on the standard actions and I add [GH] (or [P] in one case) to the name to distinguish them from the standard actions.
You can find a full list of the current actions and download them from my site here. Click the action link to go to a page with more information about each action. Most of them are free but there is a small charge for a few of the more complex actions.
You can install these actions using the 'Install Action' icon on the ChronoForms Forms Manager toolbar (they will not install using the Joomla! extensions installer).
Once installed these actions will appear in the [GH] Custom actions group (earlier versions appeared in the standard groups but Max changes these from time to time and it became easier to use my own group.)
There is an exception in the CSV Export [GH] action which is now included as a part of the standard ChronoForms release and therefore maintained by Max. I have made some improvements in the version from my site which is now called the CSV Export v2 [GH] action.
In most cases these actions do one or more of the following:
- add some functionality that is not in the standard action e.g. the Email [GH] action included a 'Conditional' box that makes it easy to send an email depending on data from the form submission.
- has an improved interface IMHO e.g. the Email [GH] action accepts both 'static' and 'dynamic' values in the same box instead of using separate tabs.
- fixes or works around a possible bug in the standard version e.g. the Email [GH] action uses a slightly different Joomla! function to send emails.
It can be tricky keeping these actions up to date with changes that Max makes in new releases of ChronoForms so please let me know if you find anything that appears to be broken.
