backend chronoform broken after move to new server.

steverahks 11 Nov, 2014
Hello,

I moved a website from the developments server to the live server and found issues with Chronoforms V5. The forms appear fine on the front end. The issue seems to be limited to two of the forms in the back-end.

One of my forms displays fine in the back-end while the other two are messed up. (screen shot attached.)

I have turned on debugger in Joomla and nothing appears on the messed up pages in the back-end.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks

It looks like the Chronoforms files are not loaded on this page, do you have any system plugins controlling the loaded files ?

I guess I don't really know. What kind of plugin are you referring to? The site has the default Joomla plugins.

But any 3rd party "system" plugins installed ? some of them block some loaded files and would cause the issue you have.

Answer
I deleted Chronoforms on the new server, re-installed it and still have the problem with the two forms. I deleted the affected forms and restored them, problem persists.

I created a basic form as a test and everything works fine with it. I guess all I can do now is delete my forms and start over.

Thanks anyway. I have always been happy with Chronoforms and don't put any blame on the program . . . something simply got screwed up when moving it to the new server. Too bad it wasn't obvious what happened so I could prevent re-creating my forms.

Thanks Anyway😟

Hi tjhaas,

You could simply take a form backup then restore it on a fresh Chronoforms install on the new server.

You could also download and install the latest v5 update on the existing new server install, that would have added any missing files.

Hi tjhaas,

Please look at the page source for the messed up forms. you will probably find a PHP message somewhere in the HTML that is breaking the loading. That message should give a clue about what the problem is.

The page source can be very long but the PHP message usually shows up about where the visible stops so try searching for 'forms manager' in the page and they look after that line.
