Dynamic from email is not working

thewebnsoft 06 Apr, 2012
I am using chronoform 4 on joomla 2.5, and in form email event I am using my form fields to be set as dynamic from name , dynamic from email, dynamic reply to name, dynamic reply to email address, I am actually having name and email field in my form which I am using to replace both, it works fine for dynamic reply to name, dynamic reply to email and dynamic from name, but not for dynamic from email, dynamic from email value is shows as email address used for smtp authentication in joomla global configuration.

Hi thewebnsoft,

There's a Joomla! bug with the From Email address that you'll find discussed in another thread.

I strongly recommend that you do *not* use the Dynamic From Email element in your Email Setups. Using this often results in your emails being marked as spam and dropped into a spam filter. Instead use the static From Email with an address that matches the site domain name and use Dynamic ReplyTo Email for the user email. The result is the same but with a much better chance of good delivery.

Hi

I reopen this post because I have the same problem.
I have joomla 2.5.6 and CF 4.RC3.21

When I set Email like this
Static : To, Subject, From name, From email
Dynamic: reply to name, reply to email

in my email client (hotmail), when I hit reply, I have adress email "from email" and not "dynamic reply to email"

But If I set Email like this
Static : To, Subject, From name,
Dynamic: From email, reply to name, reply to email

in my email client (hotmail), when I hit reply, I have adress email "dynamic from email" but with the risk of spam issue as you mentionned it.

How to fix it with first setting

Hi

I fixed the problem with the hack mentioned in FAQ. Now for another website, I had the problem only with Gmail client. If Chronoforms sends the form to hotmail, "dynamic reply to" works but not if the same form is sent to Gmail, when I hit reply to in webmail of Gmail, the answser goes to static email.

Is there a special parameter for Gmail.

Thanks for your help

Yades

PS : In order to be more precised, i did some test and the problem of dynamic reply to is only on webmail Gmail. It works well if I reply with my Gmail account on Outlook. I would like it works with webmail client too.
