It's up again how to display cronoform in an Article ?

Ron 31 Oct, 2010
Hello,

I have gone through the forum and other articles and have seen how to display a cronoform in an article. Example: {chronocontact}form_name{/chronocontact} or {chronoform}form_name{/chronoform}.

I have tried doing this but I am not able to display the form. I fail to understand the reason. I double checked if I have installed the plugin and it is there. When I try to re-install it says "Plugin Install: Plugin "chronocontact" Already Exists! "

Can any one tell me where I may be going wrong.
Thanks for any possible help.

Hi Ron,

Tricky to diagnose by forum post . . .

By all means email or PM me the site URL and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Thanks Bob,

I want to reinstall the entire cronoforms and the plugin but I am not able to uninstall, I can see the "cronocontact"in the plugin directory. When I try to uninstall it gives me an error "Plugin Uninstall: Manifest File invalid or not found". When I try to reinstall it says the file already exists.

I tried to find the file by ftp so that I could delete manually. But I cannot find the file. I uninstalled the cronoform and the crono conectivity modules which had no problem.

I wanted to attach a snap shot but I don't know how to upload it for your perusal.

Thanks for all the help Bob

Hi Ron,

Delete the two files plugins/content/chronocontact.php and plugins/content/chronocontact.xml
Hopefully then you can re-install.

You can add an image using the Upload Attachement tab under the post editor.

WOW Bob that was fast,

The files don't exist there but I can still see it in the Admin area. See the snap shot.

Thanks

Hi Ron,

Fixed see here

I installed EasySQL to access the database and deleted the chronocontact record from the jos_plug-ins table. Then the Plug-in re-installed OK.

Bob

PS EasySQL is a free Joomal extension that lets you view and edit the database from the admin area. It's very useful but also potentially dangerous as you can damage a site by editing tables wrongly. Leave it installed or remove it as you like.

Well I have done all of the above and I still cannot get Chronoform ti display in an article.

My article name and syntax is as follows:

{chronoform}BookingEnquiryForm{/chronoform}

1) the plug-in is enabled
2) the module is enabled
3) the form is created and published

I have tried it as "chronoform(s)" with and without the "s"

But it obstinately, resolutely and consistently refuses to work.

What is it or I doing wrong?

Help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Hi Akin,

This is pretty old thread.

Which version of ChronoForms are you using? You can find the version from Site Admin | Extensions | Install/Uninstall | Components in Joomla! 1.5 or Site Admin | Extensions | Extension Manager | Manage in Joomla! 1.6/1.7/2.5.

Check the source code for the article to make sure that the plug-in link is clean and is not wrapped in <p> tags - some versions of IE won't display a form inside <p> tags.

Hi Bob,

I am using the version for Joomla 1.7. And for some reason the editor keeps restoring the <p> tags after I take them out. Cant think of way around this...

Hi Akin,

If you add <div> tags around the {chronoforms}form_name{/chronoforms} tag then IE will be happy and he editor won't try to add <p> tags.
