No form submitting?

tr trunky 27 Nov, 2025

Hi,

after a long time I got back to CF8, created a form freshly based on an old v5 form. It has several inputs and radio buttons, I added a submit button too.

Under Submit I have a message, email and a redirect.

When I hit submit it just loads the page again, keeping all inputs and all, but apparently not submitting the form. What I am doing wrong?

Edit: running Joomla 6.0.1

Hi trunky

Do you have AJAX enabled in the form ? if yes then please disable it and test again.

Does the problem occur when you test at the admin area too ?

Lastly, click the "email40" and "redirect44" to disable both actions, save the form then test again, same issue ?

I am not sure about Ajax, I did not intentionally enable anything. How would I enable it?

When I use the preview in the admin area the form works well, it redirects and sends the email as intended.

When I use it in my content via {chronoforms8} tags it doesn't. Can I call the forms directly without including them?

Answer

Of course you can call the form in a special page, here is how, first method on this page:

https://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/chronoforms/chronoforms8/how-to-display-your-chronoforms-form-on-your-joomla-website

Let me know if the menu item method from the link works or not, this will tell if it's a form issue on frontend or a plugin issue.

Hi, with direct link it works. Just the plugin did not, for whatever reasons.

At least it is solved now, thank you!

Hi trunky

in this case it may be another plugin conflicting with ChronoForms8, or the system cache, if it's the cache then installing the ChronoForms8 System Plugin instead of the default content plugin should help.
