For example - how to Read data to dropdown?
I CF6 everything was clear and self-explanatory. Now it is complete mess!!!
How can I build a statement that woud return an array with key/value pairs based on conditions? Do i need to write full custom query or this function is somewhere hidden?!?!?!? and how can i set up the dropdown with the results?

I think you did not give v8 enough attention, v8 is now much better than v6, just check the FAQs or post your question about what you need to do
