View verses Edit permissions for fields

Control view versus edit permissions for form fields.

Overview

The ACL system only provides an on/off access switch, not separate view and edit permissions.
Create two separate views: one HTML view for viewing and one field for editing, then use ACL to control access to each view independently.

Hi-

How do I give view only permissions to one usergroup, and edit permissions to another user group for a field? The ACL profiles do not seem to differentiate between viewing and editing, so I am assuming "Allowed" means both viewing and editing. I cannot find any documentation as to how this might be done.

The ACL is access permssion, so it's ON/OFF switch, if you want to view/edit then add 2 views, one HTML for View and a Field for Edit and control them with the ACL
