Community Builder Registration Problems

thatsus 21 Aug, 2008
Hi guys. Thank you for creating this component. I've been going through these forums and it's amazing that you provide such responsive support.

Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find the solution to my problem, so I'm hoping you can provide some help.

The background info: I'm running Joomla! 1.5.5, along with Community Builder 1.1 and ChronoForms 2.5 J1.5 RC3.1. I'm using Community Builder simply for the unlimited additional user fields I can create.

The problem: I've been successful in creating a core J! user registration form, however I'm not having much luck creating a CB user registration form. After filling in and submitting the form I'm redirected to a completely blank page (This behavior occurs regardless of whether or not I have a redirect URL defined). No activation or notification emails are sent to either the user email or the admin email. A new record is added to the CB user table, but it only contains the username and password, none of the input from the custom fields. Any ideas?

Have you configured the CB plugin and enabled it at the form edit page and of course disabled the J core one ?
Have you made similar config for both CB and Joomla registrations ?

Yes. The CB registration plug-in is both configured and enabled, while the J! registration plugin is disabled.

For the registration configuration, I've tried it both ways. Through the global settings, I've had J! registration enabled, and CB "same as global" registration enabled. That produces the results I describe in my first post.

When I have J! registration disabled and CB registration set to "Yes. Independently of global site setting" I am redirected to a "403 - Access Forbidden" page upon form submission. No record is created in the user table.

Hi Richard,

Ok, there was 2 small bugs with the plugin, its working very well now and I have tested it, attached are the 2 registration plugins, just overwrite yours!

I tested this with NO admin or user confirmation, user got added successfully to both Joomla users and CB tables!

Thank you for sending me the files necessary to complete the task!🙂

Regards,

Max

Is that plugin for J1.5 only? I have 1.0.15 and the plugin seems to be working, but I don't want to be missing something!!

Hi Cheryl, those fixes are for J1.5 ONLY, J1.0.x ones are working long time ago!🙂

Hi, I am having the same issue. Other test forms work fine, but the CB form I created 403's.

J!1.5.7, CB 1.1, CF 3.0, PHP 5.2.5
I have enabled the "CB Registration" plugin in the Form editor.
I have added the field names to the form in the Forms Management.
Joomla Registration is disabled.
Community Builder registration works through Community Builder.

I am excited to get this to work. We have a need to register teachers with different information and I think this may just do the trick. I will create teacher specific fields in CB later and customize their special registration form.

I am also having some major crazy problems but a little different. Sometimes some of the fields don't work. So i made new ones. But most important, after all fields are completed, the register button, after you finish and try to click, does not work at all. Now i just found out... when i enlarge the size of the web site to "very big" the the registration link works.... crazy right???

my site is http://www.TurnMusicN2Money.com I am still on 1.5 also and upgraded CB 1.9.1
