I have to show a description in html (which I have created in html format) as per a dropdown choice but I do not find how to hide the html text and only show as per choice of dropdown. I don't find anything like "Enable Ghost" anywhere in the html field.
I would appreciate if I am helped to the right direction.

Dropdowns don't do HTML sorry. You can create the whole thing yourself in a HTML block if you like though, but field events might be a bit of a hassle.
