Form completion confirmation message not appearing nor e-mail being received

pattaya2000 09 Sep, 2017
Hi

Joomla 3.7.5 (Joomla Global Config is set to use SEF URLs)
Chronoforms v6

I have created a customized version of the Simple Contact Form template and placed the form in an article (page) on my website. The form is visible on the webpage OK. When I complete the form and click "Send", the security image is checked and the form gets reset (goes blank) but a confirmation message does not appear on screen, nor do I receive an e-mail containing what I entered into the form, even though "email2" and "custom_code4" exist on the Submit tab in the Setup section of the Forms Manager (Advanced mode).

Please could you tell me what I perhaps need to do to get it working?
(saw the v5 FAQ at https://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/5259-my-form-doesn-t-submit-send-emails-save-records but cannot seem to find where to apply the possible solutions in v6)

Many thanks in advance

First of all, update your Chronoforms v6 to the last version. Second, try to show more screenshots so we can analyze it better.

Hi Simon,

Does the form work if you open it from the View link in the CFv6 Forms Manager?

Hi flashfs & Bob

Many thanks for your replies.

Have just updated Chronoforms v6 to the newest version

Have reverted to trying to get the standard "Simple Contact Form" demo (template) form to work, for diagnostic purposes. For these purposes I have added minimal customization - "Recipient"-mail address and From email address (see two screenshots)

Re: the Confirmation Message: This appears, sort-of, if I view the form via the "View" links in the Forms Manager, complete and submit the form. However, code appears under the confirmation message - see screenshot attached. (I don't usually see that (any) result on my live website - see other screenshot)

Re: the e-mail containing what I entered into the form: I have managed start receiving such e-mails

NOTE: (maybe this is related to/influencing the issue) Whenever I make changes to a form (e.g. add a new field), the change will not appear on the form on my website until I open & re-save the Joomla Content page the form is on. This seems to be an unnecessary step which could hopefully somehow be avoided?)

Hi. Please can anyone help, by telling me the solutions for any of the 3 outstanding issues above ...?

1 - Why array code appears on the confirmation message, when seen (for example) via the "View" links in the Forms Manager

2 - How to make the confirmation message work for a form that has been put into a Joomla Content webpage

3 - How to avoid needing to open & re-save the above Joomla Content page, to be able to see changes made to the form.

Many thanks in advance

I got answers to #1 and #2 by creating additional, seperate posts ..

The Answer to #1 is at https://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/t104427/array-code-appears-on-confirmation-message

The Answer to #2 is at https://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/t104436/where-is-the-relative-url-setting-in-the-chronoforms-v6-form-manager-gui

Hope this helps someone else
