Hello,
We recently updated Joomla Core to 3.5.1 and Chronoforms to 5.0.11 and now opening the Chronoform extension results in an error:
“Line: 2
Error: Syntax error, unrecognized expression: #basic-{N}”
If I ignore this error and try to open a form, it is stuck on loading.
Your help is greatly appreciated.
Thank you

Hi ccfcu,
Do you have any 'extra' actions installed that aren't in the standard ChronoForms installation. If so, they will need to be upgraded too. What has happened is that Max changed a part of the action code to remive the {N} which was causing some JavaScript warnings.
If the form editor doesn't load please check the Template section in this FAQ.

Hi Bob,
Yes we are using the Authorize.net action. Can you please explain how to upgrade this action? The Actions plugin on the download page from 2014 doesn't appear to be what I need.

Hi ccfcu,
Sorry, I don't have an updated Authorise.net action. I had understood from a post by Max, the developer, that the 'trial' version in the latest release of ChronoForms had been updated and could then be re-validated to work as normal. If that isn't correct please contact Max using the Contact Us menu above and linking to this thread.

Hi Bob,
Just want to circle back with you guys on this. Max attempted to send me a patch file a couple of days ago but my mail server blocked it. I need this to be sent to the personal email address I gave him as soon as possible.
Thanks

Hi ccfcu,
I'm afraid that I don't have the patch file, Please contact Max by email or using the Contact Us menu and ask for it to be re-sent.

Hi Bob,
I've tried to contact Max several times but he seems to have gone dark on us. Can you please reach out to him?

Hi ccfcu,
I don't have any better way of contacting him :-(
I’ll PM you my email address - if you can send me the old action file I may be able to fix it.

Hi Bob,
I'm not really sure what you want me to send you. I seem to remember the method of getting authorize.net from the trial version to the real version was using a key, not installing a file.

Hi ccfcu,
Ah, sorry, then I think you should be able to use the same key to validate the action from the the current CFv5 installer. Have you tried that? The latest 'trial' version that I have installed has been updated to change the {N} codes.

Hi Bob,
I tried revalidating my Chronoforms 5.0.11 by two different methods using the only 2 validation keys I possess: Chronoforms 3 domains Subscription and Chronoforms Authorize.net plugin ultimate subscription. I received "Successful" messages after revalidating, but I am still unable to open any form.
P.S. Max has still not gotten back to us.
