HTML preferances and where they reside

Where does the form HTML (from Form Code) get written? I have a back up of that file but do not know where to get that part of it. When I reloaded ChronoForms it erased the existing saved file.

Having some issues getting things re-setup.

Hi Nineve,

I thought I'd ansered this, perhaps it didn't get posted correctly.

The form info is saved in the database table. If you reinstall ChronoForms the only way to get the info back is from saved copies of the forms or from a database backup.

I uninstalled CF and reinstalled using the licensed version, now my forms are gone. I see the tables are still in the DB... Is there any way to get my forms back in CF?

I even restored my last DB backup but they still don't show up.

Hi Cheryl,

Unfortunately no, there is no way to recover your forms unless you have a database backup. Uninstalling ChronoForms deletes the jos_chrono_contact database table where the forms are stored. If you have a backup and restore this table then all will be well again.

Doing any upgrade of ChronoForms - except overwriting the files using FTP - is likely to delete your forms. Ideally you should backup the forms and the database before doing an upgrade.

I do think that this should be in the instructions with the license package if it isn't already.

I have a database backup (sql) and restored it but it doesn't seem to add the forms back to the CF menu.

How can I get them back?

if the restore went successfully then you didn't have the CF table backed up...

Here are the tables I have after resintalling CF and my backup SQL:

The 1,3,4,6,8,11,16 are all my form tables. Data is there. Is there a way to get the forms back on the CF menu from this? If not it's ok, I just want to know for next time.

Max, CF menu, meaning Chronoform menu, as in the list of all the forms in my chronoform component.

I hope you saw my other message, plugin is fine.

I just redid the form I deleted, and will redo the others, and I will be sure to backup forms using the CF backup.

Don't waste anymore time on this, and sorry to have bothered you. I appreciate all you do, you and Bob have been very helpful. I'm still going to bug you about the password validation script sometime, but for now I just want to get my forms back.

I will just look at is as a learning experience and practice entering and setting up forms!! 😶

Hi Cheryl,

Take a look inside the jos_chrono_contact table - there should be one line for each form.
