I am getting "SQL=DESCRIBE `bs5bv_chronoengine_extensions`" error when trying to install the CFv5 component.

I've not seen that before. Do you get a more helpful message if you set Site Error Reporting to Maximum? Is there already a table with this name?

Same problem here. Working with postgresql.
The matter stands into CEGCore, it seems postgresql is unable to work this way with "DESCRIBE".

I don't know enough about PostGRESQL to start to answer. The code is in the three files in the /libraries/cegcore/libs/database_adapters folder. Can you hack the appropriate one - probably the Joomla! one - to work OK?

So I found I was having issues in the control panel, tabs/controls that were just missing.
I reinstalled Joomla using MySQL instead of Postgres and the missing tabs are back.
I was also able to install CF without any errors. Seems like Joomla/Postgres was the issue.
