I am having trouble connecting with chornoconnectivity
I am new to this
I have inputted all the data in the 'External Database' tab, it says saved successfully, however when i click on 'view connection' is it saying "Connection not found"
Anyone help me with this?
Hi Bob
Many thanks for this, really helpful and i have managed to now connect to the front end view.
However, when i now go on to my front end view of my form, and type in a search it is still coming up blank
My form is
Name:
Age:
Sex:
Location:
On my forms wizard on the events tab i have:
On Load: "Show html"
On Submit: "DB multi record loader"
I have config the record loader and selected my table with data and still nothing happens?
Am i missing something?
Many thanks for your help
Abbie
Hi Abbie,
Is this about ChronoForms or ChronoConnectivity? Your question appears to have switched from one to the other?
Bob
Sorry, I'm very new to this, i assumed that in order for Chronoforms to work you needed to install Chronoconnectivity?
I just need to create a searchable database on my website, im not sure what to use, ive found chronoforms easy and also used phpmyadmin
Ive just come to a dead end
Apologies for the confusion
Thanks again
Abbie
Hi Abbie,
i assumed that in order for Chronoforms to work you needed to install Chronoconnectivity?
No, ChronoForms will run happily without ChronoConnectivity and vice versa.
The two can be linked together if you want - for example - to put edit links in a CC listing.
If you have the database table already and want to make it searchable you can do most of that in CC - though I think in CCV5 you can also use a ChronoForm as a search form.

Hi Bob
Thanks for explaining that for me
Is there a step by step article that could help me with this?
I have installed ChronoForms & ChronoForms5. Does it matter which one i use?
Abbie
Hi Abbie,
There are quite a lot of FAQs at different levels.
What exactly do you want to do?
If you want a search with a plain vanilla tabular output and you don't expect too many results then you can use CF. If it's a complex listing and you want pagination and sortable columns then use CC.

Hi Bob
I need to create a number of forms really, but im just using a test form for now so i can get an understanding of how it works.
Basically, i have a list of about 500 people - on an excel spreadsheet
I want people to be able to search for a specific type of person using a form on the front end of my website
and the results being filtered by whatever is entered into the form
Sorry to be a pain with this
Thanks again
Abbie
Hi abbie,
Sounds like CC to me.
If you want to send me the spreadsheet I can convert that to a MySQL table that you can add to your database to test some more. If that helps PM me for an email address.
