CFV5 DB Viewer Sort Issue

MainsailSoftware 28 May, 2015
I am seeing an error across different forms and even tables within the same form when I use the DB Viewer functionality. If I sort a column that does not appear in one table, I receive an "Unknown column" error stating that the sort field column is not valid. This seems to be due to ListData settings not being cleared when the "Data listing" view is closed, and the sort column is being carried across to the next Form's or table's "Data listing" view.

The work-around seems to be to make sure you have a common column defined in the DB Viewer table column list that exists in all tables (i.e., id=ID) and always sort by that before leaving the "Data listing" view.

This is pretty annoying!

Hi MainsailSoftware,

I find the built in viewer very limited, if I need to do anything serious I temporarily install the MijoSQL or AceSQL extension which are much more effective and simple to use.
