Fields validation does not work

di sciascio 08 May, 2015
Hi I'm trying to use a chronoform with validation but it seems it does not working. I've read about other posts with similar issue, but the solutions given does not work for me.
When I load the page I have the following errors in console:
 jQuery is not defined
gvalidate is not a function

I've added validation in designer -> events with click on submit button; I've also used validation in setup->onLoad with JS client validation

Any suggestion to solve this?

Hi di sciascio,

It looks as though the ChronoForms files aren't being loaded correctly. Does the form work from the View Form link in the Forms Manager?

Hi maartenbeke,

I only see two errors there. The first one says that cURL is not enabled so ChronoForms can't send a message to check the validation.

For any question about subscriptions or validation of any of the ChronoEngine products please contact Max directly by using the Contact Us form from the link above.

Hi di sciascio,

Maybe a problem with the site template? Hard to say - please post a link to the form so I can take a quick look.

Hi di sciascio,

You have some kind of file compressor that is breaking the JavaScript - please disable it and retest.

What do you exactly mean?
I've installed the joomla version from scratch and installed the template...maybe there is some plugin or depends on server side options?

Hi di sciascio,

I can see these compressed files in the page header:
<!-- Compress css -->
<link rel="stylesheet" href="/yt-assets/02ca83f7017f3184bd4c477ba8762f0e.css" type="text/css">
<!-- Cmpress js -->
<script language="javascript" charset="utf-8" type="text/javascript" src="/yt-assets/b7f328f691f609a2fe0ba12880b3e6a5.js"></script>
It might well be a template option. Please find it and turn it off, or ask it not to compress the CF files.

It seems that the template has some troubles...but now it is hard for me to change it!!
Do you know any workaround to remove this kind of compression?
The template is the SJ plus free version, and the trouble is about yt framework
Thanks!

Hi di sciascio,

I don't know anything about your template but I would expect there to be a setting to turn off the compression.
