Chronoforms v4 installation not updating

How to prevent duplicate ChronoForms installations during an update.

Overview

The issue occurs because the update process installs a new major version (v5) alongside the existing version (v4) instead of upgrading it.
Ensure you update the existing ChronoForms v4 installation to its latest compatible version for your Joomla release, rather than installing v5 separately, to maintain access to your forms.

Hi,

I'm currently attempting to update a website to Joomla 3.4.1. Since Chronoforms is installed on this website, I attempted to update this too. I encounter some issues though. Instead of updating Chronoforms, it installs a new Chronoforms next to the already existing one. This results in the following:

We now have Chronoforms V4 and Chronoforms V5 installed, both at the same time, and our forms are not visible in Chronoforms V5. I'm not sure if this is a known issue, but when googling I couldn't find an answer to it.

Any help is greatly appriciated.

Hi Ruben,

ChronoForms v4 and v5 are separate versions, as you have seen you can install them together. There is only a limited upgrade of your forms from V4 to v5 though.

Have you upgraded the CFv4 installation to the latest version for Joomla! 3 Your existing forms should run OK on that.
