Error Msg on form in email field

JWE 12 Mar, 2015
Hi there,

I have created a form, however, I just tested it and when I put an email address into a field, it comes up with this error:

This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." id="text9" placeholder="" maxlength="" size="" class="validate['required'] form-control" title="" style="" data-inputmask="" data-load-state="" data-tooltip="" type="text" />

I have attached an image and website: http://www.entertainersforhire.com.au/contact-us

How can I fix this please?

Hi....I am getting the exact same error message as JWE on about half of my forms. All of the forms do pretty much the same thing. I changed the plug-in order and I am still receiving the error. When I turn off Email Cloaking, the form will not even submit. The inputted data remains with no error message or indication that the form was accepted. I am using the honeypot.

Do you have any other suggestions? Thanks for your help!

Hi dariegler,

I can think of no reason why disabling the Email Cloaking plug-in would stop your form submitting More likely that it's not submitting at all.

Please add a Debugger action to the On Submit event then test the form from the View Form link in the Forms Manager and post the Debugger output here.

Please see Debugger code (from ViewForm location) is below. The form does not fail when run from the ViewForm location. It only seems to fail when run from within the website. Note that it is not producing any Debugger code from within the site either. Thanks so much for your help!

Hi again....I ran one more test which I hope points in the right direction. I inserted the form that was failing on a page called by a different menu and ran the form from the site. The form processed and the DEBUG code is below. Is it possible there is some menu setting that is getting in the way of some of my forms?

Hi dariegler,

It sounds as though the form isn't submitting in the cases where you don't see the Debugger output. This is usually a problem with SEF URLs :-(

How are you displaying the form on your site?

Please try setting Relative URL to No in the form HTML (Render Form) action - you may need to switch to the Normal/Advanced Wizard to do that.

Each entry form is only a few fields so it is displayed within an article using the plugin. I am very reluctant to send the user to a new page. I think my problem must be due to file corruption or something since nothing was behaving logically with some of these forms (i.e. the same form would work on one page and not another, same form would work on all pages, etc) . I decided to reinstall the Chrono Comp, Mod and Plugin even though I was on the latest version. I made sure that the plugin was at the top of the Ordering list as you suggested. Then I used one of the forms that was working in all cases as a model and made copies to recreate the other forms. So far, four of the pages where the forms were failing are now working correctly with the new version of their respective forms.

I hope this does the trick. Thank you so much for your help!
