V4->V5 Problem

Hi,

Just adding V5 to my site. Backed up V4, and restored to V5. The forms are intact but all of the actions and any custom events are gone.

Is there a trick I missed?

Hi Ken,

The simple answer is to stay with CFv4 for your existing forms until you need to upgrade. You can add new forms in CFv5 as the two run together.

I was preparing to reproduce the events section but just wanted to make sure I wasn't missing something. So if I understand: events and actions do not survive the version upgrade?

Hi Ken,

That's correct - as far as I know,

The other thing to be aware of is that the HTML structure has changed so some features of the CFv4 HTML may not work with CFv5 if they depend on the HTML Layout.

If you have problems with this, IMHO it's probably simpler to rebuild the form HTML in CFv5 rather than try to do a patch up.
