Chronoforms v5 plugin - does not load in article

ryansbud 23 Dec, 2014
Hi

Firstly, thanks for a great component!

I have developed a form, and tested it using the test form button, as well as by linking the component to a menu item, and the form loads fine.

I installed the Chonoforms plugin, but I cannot get the form to load within an article. Instead, the tags {chronoforms5}Enquiry{/chronoforms5} are shown in the article.

I checked these things before contacting you:
The plugin is installed, and enabled

The {chronoforms5}Enquiry{/chronoforms5} tags match my form name

The {chronoforms5}Enquiry{/chronoforms5} are not obscured by <p> elements etc. The raw html is
<div>{chronoforms5}Enquiry{/chronoforms5}</div>

Joomla cache is not enabled
Many thanks for your assistance.

Hi ryansbud,

two things to check please:

+ please double-check that you have the CF Version 5 plug-in installed (and not the CFv4 one)
+ please switch temporarily to one of the default Joomla! templates and see if the form then shows correctly.

Thanks for your reply

I did download the latest plug-in, under the V5 section of the downloads page.

I thought perhaps another plug-in was interfering, but then I tested with Chronoforms loading first, and then last.

I will get back to you after I change the template. I am currently using Shape 5 design control.

I'm still having trouble. It is the same problem with the default Protostar template.

I disabled a number of plug-ins that were not part of the core Joomla, and still have the problem. What else could interfere with the plug-in?

Hi ryansbud,

Sorry no more suggestions - by all means email or PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Hi

Unfortunately, it is still on my localhost.

I have j2store. Do you know if Chronoform would be compatible inside a J2Store article?
GreyHead 23 Dec, 2014
Hi ryansbud,

I don't know anything about J2Store but it should show forms IF it supports Joomla! Content plug-ins. If not you may be able to use one of the other Joomla! extensions that allow content display.

Hi to everyone,
some problem with me site. It seems works properly with ALL default template for Joomla!3.3.6
I tried to change pluing order (moving to first position or to the latest position) and anything it's changing.
Any other ideas to test?

Hi giamas72,

If it works with all the default templates but not with your template then it's most likely a problem with the template :-(

Hi,
hope this discussion is sitl alive even if almost a year passed.
I am using Joomla! 2.5.4, and I have installed ChronoForms5.
I am unable to show it via Module assignment, neither it works properly pasting the code in an article.
The Submit button remains not clickable, and further when I enter the code

<div>{chronoforms5}my_form{/chronoforms5}</div>

It just shows <div>{chronoforms5}my_form/chronoforms5}</div> in the article, and the plugin does not work even if correctly installed and enabled.

Please now that I am a total newbie, and I am not sure on how to properly change the template, as I see this could be the problem.

Thanks for your help.

Best regards,
Gabriele

Hi Gabriele,

Have you installed the ChronoForms v5 plug-in?

Dear Bob,
thanks for your note.

Yes I did, it says it need the component, and I installed it too of course.
The problem keeps on happening, the Submit button is not clickable and plugin activating code appears in the article text.
Am I doing something wrong?

Best regards,
Gabriele.
GreyHead 12 Oct, 2015
Hi Gabriele,

Well there is definitely something wrong but I have no idea what it is. By all means PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look. Please also tell me which article you have added the plug-in code to.

Bob
