User name in Private Messages

Jongbloets 05 Dec, 2014
Hi,

In my Chrono Forums I've set the Displayed Name to Name. Yet when composing a private message, the Username is displayed. I cannot find a separate setting for this. How coud we solve this?

Kind regards, Frits

P.S: I'm just an automated service😉

Sorry, my question isn't answered yet.

Hi Max,

Just installed the update. There seems to be another issue with the recipient field now: it is not visible anymore. The field label is still there and in the source I can see there is an input field present with the id "recipients" but it is of the type "hidden".

I would add a screenshot if I knew how to do that, seems like you disabled it?

I mean: you disabled adding a screenshot in this support forum.

Aha, it was due to using the Quick reply option.

Please see attached screenshot now.

Hi,

This issue is not yet solved:

Maybe this slipped from your attention because the discussion turned to the option of adding a screenshot to this topic. Which I managed to do in my former post. So we may return to the original topic now ;-)

Forgot to confirm in this topic. I did send you my details using the "Contact us" page, a few days ago. Hope this helps.

I also checked this issue across several browsers, and it is consistent. I can see in the html source the input type is "hidden", so from that point of view it would be correct that the field is not displayed. I just don't think it should be of the type "hidden".

Kind regards, Frits

Hi Frits,

I confirm that I have received that and I'm working on a fix!

The field is hidden because the default field is replaced by the auto completer widget, so this is normal, but it should work fine, so I'm working on that!

Hi Max,

Thanks for the update.

When I wrote:

Forgot to confirm in this topic.

I meant to say that I forgot to confirm it. I know from frequent use of support forums that it is important to keep topics up to date with other actions that take place outside the forum.

So I didn't mean to say that you forgot to confirm 😉

Best wishes, Frits

Speaking of "replacing": I have NoNumber's ReReplacer installed on the site. Hope it doesn't interfere with the replacing process that you are referring to.

No problems, I understand!🙂

Well, I don't think there is interference, but we can test this again after the fix!

Hi,

Was this issue ever resolved? I'm running the latest version (March 2015) and still having this issue.

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to me. Unfortunately my site is still having this issue.

The problem is exactly the same as in this topic from a few days ago: http://www.chronoengine.com/forums/posts/f30/t99759/private-message-recipients-no-options.html

I'll post in that topic now with more details.

Cheers
