The datepicker is a nice tool to receive processable date format, eg. 'yyyy-mm-dd'. Unfortunately, I couldn't use this element for birthday fields, since it is not writable. And I don't want to browse my almost 60 years through the calendar to pick my birthdate. So, it could be nice addition to make the field writable.

If you set the Datepicker Start View to Years it takes about 3 clicks to get back to the 1950s.

Another option would be to use a text field with input mask for date, that should work well too!
