Hello,
I installed ChronoForms V4 for Joomla 1.5. I have Joomla 1.7, but 1.5 was the only 1.x version available on your download page (http://www.chronoengine.com/downloads/chronoforms). It looks like it installed fine (I got the message "Applied '0' Database updates successfully. Installing component was successful."). However, when I try to access admin pages I either get a blank page, or the following error:
Warning: require_once(/opt/bitnami/apps/joomla2/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/versions/j1.7/admin.chronoforms.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /opt/bitnami/apps/joomla2/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/admin.chronoforms.php on line 16 Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required '/opt/bitnami/apps/joomla2/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/versions/j1.7/admin.chronoforms.php' (include_path='.:/opt/bitnami/php/lib/php') in /opt/bitnami/apps/joomla2/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/admin.chronoforms.php on line 16
Did I do something wrong? In the path listed above, the j1.5 directory exists, but not the j1.7 like it's looking for.

Hi pedrams,
You can try to install v5 and check if it works, if it does then that should be better!
If not then you can open your site file management under this path:
/opt/bitnami/apps/joomla2/administrator/components/com_chronoforms/versions/
And copy the j2.5 folder and rename it as j1.7
You will need to have v4 for J2.5 installed, so please uninstall the one you have now and install v4 for j2.5, but thats after you try v5 first!
Regards,
Max

Thanks for the reply. One thing I tried myself was creating a symbolic link called 1.5 to the 1.7 directory and it seems to be working so far. If that gives me problems then I'll try using v5.
I created a form and it seemed to be working OK, so I guess using the version for Joomla 1.5 with a sym link hack is OK so far. I didn't want to chance v5 because it's only for Joomla 2.5+ so compatibility might be an issue.
I'm just wondering why it made the 1.5 directory in the first place, or why there is no 1.7 version on the download page.
Because Joomla 1.7 is over, you should upgrade to J2.5

We have a lot of custom scripts that would make upgrading to 2.5 difficult.
Regardless, ChronoForms for Joomla1.7 could at least be made available on the download page. It's advertised on the site, but when you click the link it takes you to the download page with only the 1.5 version. It should be made available, or not mentioned on the site.
Anyway, I hope this post helps for anyone else running Joomla 1.7.

The J2.5 installer should work fine on J1.7.
Also one more note, although the J1.5 installer did work, but you may face problems on the future, so I suggest that you take a form backup, then uninstall and try the J2.5 version of both v4 and v5.
I also suggest that you try v5 since its the version developed at the moment, you can install v5 with v4 in place, they will not conflict!

Version 5 installs, but I can't see any forms in the forms manager. I was able to restore a form and create a new form, both without errors, but forms manager still shows nothing. Version 4 seems to be OK though, thanks.
v5 will not list v4 forms, they are different.
What about the 2 forms you created in v5, can you see them ? if yes then all is good and you can use them!

No, V5 doesn't show the form. It just said that the import went OK, but nothing shows up in Forms Manager (not even the new one I created). So we're using V4 for J2.5 instead, which is working fine even though we have J1.7.
What happens when you click the "demo forms" button in v5 admin area ?
When I click the "Demos" button, it doesn't list any forms. It just says "Form restored successfully."
We're OK with using V4 though since it's working fine for us, so no need to troubleshoot V5.
Ok, but I think its a J1.7 issue since its working fine on J2.5
