Pre Sales Questions

Hi
This sounds like it could be quite useful for my current project.

1. Is it for form related data operations only ?
2. Can it pull data from external databases that are hosted else where ?
3. Can it pull any type of data from custom tables to insert into elements contained in modules or articles ?
4. Can it generate the elements for the data to end up in ?

Thanks
Chris

Hi Chris,

#1- Any data in your database
#2- no, not yet
#3- there is a ChronoConnectivity plugin, but there is no module
#4- what kind of elements ? the list is available in Tabular or custom formats.

Please check the CCv5 section under the FAQs

Hi Max
Thanks for clearing some of that up for meπŸ™‚

So re

#3- there is a ChronoConnectivity plugin, but there is no module

can the plugin be used to insert data into a custom html module ?

#4- what kind of elements ? the list is available in Tabular or custom formats.

Ideally I would like to insert data into Custom uikit table cells or uikit panel boxes if possible
So does the display type (custom) work like the email templates in CFv5 eg "<td>{my_field}</td>" ?

Answer
Hi Chris,

#4- yes, use any kind of html you have, and since you have uikit loaded then you can use its classes!

#3- you want to display the table inside a module ?

Cool πŸ˜€
That's great news

I also wanted to setup a custom HTML module to sorta behave like the latest news module but formatted nicer with extra data from a custom table for notices so its icon, title with dates below with title as a lightbox popup link.

Previously I just created a windows app to inject nicely formatted HTML into an article or module but it would be great if i can setup the website to do some of the heavy lifting 2

Thanks for the info

Hi Chris,

I'm not sure if the custom html module can run Joomla plugins, if not then you can find a module which does then use the Connectivity plugin syntax there!πŸ™‚

Sorry Just One more Question i noticed that if I access my main website with a parked domain it still seems to be validated as my forms dont show the branding at the bottom but i do have a much older version of chronoforms (4.0 RC3.4.1) installed there.
Can I expect the same Behavior with the new versions of Chrono Products ?

Anyways Thanks Max for all your help I'm off to have a play with itπŸ™‚

Hi Chris,

You could also build your listing in a ChronoForm using the DB Loader and a little PHP+HTML for the display, then you can use the ChronoForms module.

Hi Chris,

Regarding your question, as long as you have validated then the validation status doesn't change unless you try to validate again or update!
