Page Not Found in admin area and front end

adadeacon 27 Oct, 2014
Hi,

I've just moved a Wordpress site from my server to a sub-domain on the new server where it needs to go live in 2 days.

After moving the site, everything works fine except the Chronoforms plugin.

When I got to Chronoforms5 in the Admin area, I get this message "Page not found". It also shows on the front-end wherever I have published forms.

I have deleted and re-installed the plugin and the problem persists.

Please help, I need to have this site live in 2 days! I can pm login details.

Hi Max,

I've updated the plugin on the WP site earlier today when I re-installed it (installed with the file that I downloaded here from chronoengine.com).

It is currently on version 5.0.3 and it's not showing that an update is available.

Hi adadeacon,

Please try one of these:

#1- if you don't have the plugin installed at all then please install it from WP.

#2- if you have the one we have here installed (which is now outdated), please update to the one on WP.

If #2 fails then please install the version we have here again, then take a forms backup then uninstall then install the one on WP

Let me know!

Regards,
Max

Hi Max,

I've deleted the plugin and #1 Installed it with the outdated install file from your website - still shows 'page not found'. #2 Updated the plugin - still shows 'page not found'. #3 Deleted the plugin again and installed directly in WP admin area from WP extensions directory - still shows 'page not found'.

Screenshot of the blank 'page not found' screen:

I PMd you login details to the site yesterday in case you need to check the site itself.

Hi adadeacon,

Do you have a backup of your forms ? if you do then please try to "uninstall" the plugin in your wp admin then install the one on WP, this is what I would try if I login to your website.

Please let me know how it works!

Max

Hi Max,

That's what I've already done - I've deleted / uninstalled the plugin more than once and installed it again with the install file on your website and with the direct install on WP, both give the same result.

The website is hosted on Azure by the way. Are there any known incompatibilities with your plugin and the hosting platform?

Hi adadeacon,

I have just tested this here and everything is working fine, unfortunately I don't have Azure server to test this on and can't rule out any conflicts.

The "Page not found" message you get is actually generated by Chronoforms when some request variables are missing, so there is some problem some where, but the script runs fine, what's the url in the browser's address bar ?

Your previous working server was not on Azure ?

The url when logged in and going to the plugin is http://hanrickcurran.azurewebsites.net/wp-admin/admin.php?page=Chronoforms5

Yes the plugin worked fine on the previous server, it's only after we moved it to the Azure server where the website will be hosted that the error started.

Hi Max,

I've done some further testing and it seems the problem does lie with the Chronoforms plugin...

There were other things on the website also not working, like the Widgets weren't saving and Akeeba Backup couldn't make any backups. On inspecting the errors with Firebug, they were all giving 404 errors for Ajax calls.
"NetworkError: 404 Not Found - http://hanrickcurran.azurewebsites.net/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php"

So I disabled all plugins and started enabling them one by one, every time testing the save function for the Widgets - the save function works with all other plugins enabled except Chronoforms. As soon as I enable Chronoforms the error is back.

From what I've read on this issue (where other plugins caused it for people), they generally say the specific plugin is causing jQuery errors in the wp-admin area.

I've attached a screenshot of the server configuration on Azure.
The MySQL version is 5.5.21-log (it doesn't show on the screenshot)

Hi adadeacon,

I made many tests the other day too and couldn't find any clues, but in this case you can simply view the page source to verify if Chronoforms has loaded any files or code on the page, you can also view the browser's console window and check for any errors.

And did Akeeba backup work with CF disabled ?

Please let me know what you find.

Max

Akeeba backup also works with CF disabled.

I've just installed another form plugin that works fine (Visual Form Builder) because I need to get the site working. I prefer Chronoforms over it, so I hope we can switch back to a working CF at some point.

I understand, I will let you know if I manage to find out what's causing this issue!
