Conflicting Style of Menu

aftabn10 14 Oct, 2014
Hi, I was looking for some help in regards to an issue that I am having. I have used chronoforms on my other websites and not had any issues and really appreciate the module and what it provides for me. I have added this onto another website that I am working on and for some reason whenever I publish a new form, the submenus within my navigation all lose their styling and something seems to be conflicting.

I have used the icemegamenu and chronoforms before with the use of submenus but I dont understand what I have done wrong. If somebody could please advise on how i can get this fixed, would really appreciate it.

Btw the url of the site is: http://s116169771.websitehome.co.uk/brightbees_cms/index.php/contact

You can see the difference in styling if you visit the homepage at: http://s116169771.websitehome.co.uk/brightbees_cms/index.php

Thanks in advance.

Hi aftabn10,

I can see the problem and it appears to be caused by a JavaScript error in the IceGateMenu script. I can't work through all the detail but it looks as if the menu array is empty what the code tried to get the elements in it.

I'm not clear what the cause is or how this relates to ChronoForms. It may be that the mix of jQuery and MooTools is the problem though I haven't seen this with CFv5.

Do the menu creators have any suggestions?

Thanks for your response GreyHead. Unfortunately the menu creators responsed just now and mentioned a conflict of javascript. The funny thing is that I have used chronoforms and the icemegamenu component on other sites and never come across this issue. The only other solution I had mind was to rebuild the whole site on a new joomla installation as something somewhere is not functioning correctly.

Hi aftabn10,

I thought I'd replied to this yesterday but I must have forgotten to submit :-(

If you are planning an upgrade to Joomla! 3 that might solve it as it handles the JavaScript library separation better (though I'm not sure that is the problem here).

I'll keep this tab open and have another look when I have some time to see if I can track down the source of the problem.

Hi GreyHead, I had a look at this again and downloaded a full version of the latest joomla 2.5 package. I downloaded the chronoforms and icemegamenu packages and created 2 new pages one homepage and 1 contact page along with a sub page under homepage. The homepage shows the menu correctly but whenever I access the contact page which has the chronoform activated the submenu does not show up properly, so definitely a conflict.

I thought maybe somewhere I have made an error with the css, so thot id try the modules on an unedited version of joomla, but no luck...

Just thot i would give you an update as to where i was.

Thanks
