Hi there,
I have a Joomla 2.5 site that has been using Chronoforms V4. Recently we moved the email accounts to a separate server and had to change the site to use SMTP to send mail. All of our forms started having this error:
Mailer Error: SMTP Error: The following recipients failed: (email address)
From searching this forum it sounding like Chronoforms V4 didn't support SMTP sending, so I installed Chronoforms V5 (a few hours before posting this question) and set up the same form there, adding the SMTP info from the "settings" button. But I still get the exact same error, so I'm not sure it's actually trying to use SMTP or not.
Can anyone help me sort this out?
Thanks!
-Meg

It seems to have been a problem with the "from" address on the emails not being a real account. Weird but all better now!
Hi Meg,
CFv4 supports SMTP - it uses Joomla's email code.
Do you see debugger output if you add a Debugger action to the form On Submit event? If so, please copy and paste it here.

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the info! Old forum posts can be misleading apparently...
I did try the Debugger but it only showed me the exact same error that I could already see without it. The forms are working fine now so I guess it was really just the something with the "from" address that didn't cause a problem until we switched to SMTP.
Thanks,
