Despite public and guests not being able to post in the forum, they still get the new topic button, which when clicked on just gives an error. What can I do to fix this as it does not look good at all to have errors show up like that.

There is a setting to hide it when the permissions are not enough, please check the settings area, I think its under the General or Display tabs!
