Hi There!
I am in the midst of preparing my site to upgrade to the latest Joomla 3 version.
In doing so I understand that I must upgrade all of my components and extensions.
I see that ChronoForms has gone to a 5.0 version and today I installed the ChronoForms latest 5.0 version. I see that it is an entirely separate installation on my Components menu.
I was able to back up my V4 form and upload it to the 5.0 version but for some reason when I link the form to a menu it does not show up and is blank.
I tried to go by the guide but I am finding it confusing. How do I link my form in a menu item or an article and get it to display?
Also, once I get the V5 working do I simply uninstall the V4 component?
Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hi Webgyrl.
ChronoForms v4 will run perfectly well on Joomla! 2.5 and Joomla! 3 so the simplest solution is to stay with that.
The ability to restore CFv4 files in CFv5 is experimental, in my experience it works OK with some simple forms.
If you want to move to CFv5 now or in the future the most effective solution is to rebuild :-(

Hi Bob,
Thanks for the quick answer. I will rebuild the forms. I am preparing to upgrade the site to J3.3 and will need to move to the V5 installation.
Thanks!

Hi WebGyrl,
Sorry, there was a typo in my post - CFv4 also runs on Joomla! 3

Hi Bob/Max,
I just installed V5 next to V4 version in a J3.x enviroment.
I back-upped a form and restored it in V5, however, it only restored teh PREVIEW area and not the SETUP area.
I know it's in an experimental stage, but are the any ideas when it would go flowless...

Yes, the setup area will not be imported, maybe this will be added to a future release, but it should be easy for the user to rebuild the setup, please note that any missing or misconfigured actions may have very unexpected consequences, unlike the preview area!🙂

Max
