Is there any known reason why PDFs are getting corrupted so that I get a 'Failed to open PDF' message when using the file downloader? I'm completely new to Chronoforms and will be buying a subscription for my client, but I need to confirm that this feature works.
Please try to go to the Joomla global configuration and set the error reporting to "none", maybe your website generates some notices which breaks the PDF output.

That didn't help, but I now think there is some sort of server issue. I cloned the site onto another server and was able to download OK. Thanks for your help.
OK - further investigation and a clue provided by my hosting company has produced some more evidence.
The downloads work if the form is displayed from a menu item using the component. If, however, it is displayed in a module - which was one of the main reasons for going for the extension - the downloads get corrupted. They have the page html ahead of the PDF content.

More research - and a solution! A FAQ https://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/56-cfv4/cfv4-other-faqs/2571-how-do-i-show-a-form-in-an-article.html relating to using the plugin suggests the following:
"Using the plug-in can sometimes cause problems with form submission. Usually this is because ChronoForms tries to use the page URL as the basis for the form action. If SEF is turned on for the site this can give odd results. Please try setting Relative URL to No. IN CFv4 this setting is on the form General Tab (click the form name link in the Forms Manager to see it); in CFv5 it is in the HTML (render form) action settings."
This also seems to fix the download from a module form issue. As long as there are no side-effects I should be OK.

Hi mde1954,
Not as far as I know, or that I have seen reported here. Can you attach one of the PDFs here?
Bob
