Loosing template

le5 26 Jun, 2014
Hi Bob

Something is going total fail with the new version an Joomla 3.3.1.

I lost now 2 days on this problem with the template. First I thought it's a Problem with TCPDF, then I thought maybe the Multipage makes problem.

Then I reduced the form. But it has 16 fields. So I started to make backups. Slowly started create the first page and tested it allways in between. And then from one moment to the next again lost the template.

I'm really helpless. Never had this Problem with chronoforms, but I'm sure there is a major bug somewhere!

I can't imagine that I'm the only one, who has problems with the new Versions of Joomla and Chronoforms.

Any Ideas

Thanks Pawel

Dear Bob

I made a second test on a live system with joomla 3.3.0 and chronoforms 3.0.5 with a backup copy that is not finisched (but has not the bug) and just started to change the labels and requirements of formfields. And after about 5 changes again the same problem.

The following page looses without any reason the template!!!

I'm really sure this is a major bug.

Dear Bob

Format or not Format... wtf

Dear Chronoforms developer
PLEASE install a Field-Name checker, which disallows some values like "format"!!!!!!

I tracked the f***king Form Field for field, and Event to Event single-stepped down.
And the Problem of the loosing template was, that one Fieldname I used was "format".
Now I called it "zeichenformat" and EVERYTHING works as it should be.

You can't belive, what efforts it needed... changed to Joomla 3.3.0 ... to Joomla 3.2.3 and several other Chronoform versions, where I knew I had never problems.... and at the end its a fieldname.... 😈

How ever... so maybe I still get finished today 😲

Maybe this helps at least other chronoform users in the future.

It would be interesting if there exist other Fieldnames you are NOT ALLOWED to use.

Dear Bob

The above statement is not meant evil... it's ironically.

And thanks for the good work you do here!

Hi Pawel,

There's a list of words that are known to cause problems in this FAQ - it does include 'format'. I think that is one used by Joomla!
