{edit_record} and {delete_record}

doromi 18 Jun, 2014
Hi,

I have transferred the CC code from an older form into CC V4. Everything is shown as it should be.
Now in the old version I had the nice features of showing an {edit_record} and {delete_record} button
in the data rows depending on conditions (eg owner of the data).

In V4 this code simply does not work - what should I write instead of {edit_record} and {delete_record} ?

And - in the old version there were Add/Edit/Delete Links on the General tab
where one could put e.g. a picture (<img src="/images/M_images/delete.png" alt="Delete">) to be shown as button.
Does this exist in V4 as well ? Where should I look ?

Thanks in advance,

kind regards

Hi,

Did you manage to find a solution to your problem ? I'm currently having the same issue.
I think the solution is somewhere around creating a CC Task into a CF linked to our CC, but I can't manage to link the task to the CC.

in v4 please try to use _EDIT_ and _DELETE_, please note that v5 can be installed with v4 on the same site and it has good tutorials on the FAQs page, we suggest that you use it instead!

Hi Max,
thanks for the info.
I did install v5 and tried it there.

The FAQ "View and Edit actions" (http://www.chronoengine.com/faqs/72-ccv5/5207-view-and-edit-actions.html) nicely explains how to use _EDIT_ and _DELETE_, and it works nicely.

On top of that I found out that one even can replace these two not only with text, but with an image (as button) as well:
In the FrontList Settings instead of _EDIT_:Edit you enter
_EDIT_:<img src="path_to_your_image_file/name_of_your_Image">
and the image is nicely shown wherever you note _EDIT_ in the List display.
