Couldn't create upload directory

mike80925 28 May, 2014
When uploading a file I would like for it to not add the upload folder in my directory. Is there a way to do this and have it just upload to the folder I specify with out creating the upload folder in that directory?

Hi mike80925,

You can set the Upload Path in the Upload Files action to any valid path on your server.

When I add any additional folders to the "\www\joomla30\components\com_chronoforms5\chronoforms\uploads" it will not allow me to upload a folder.

Hi mike80925,

That sounds like a problem of folder permissions - the Joomla!* User on your server needs to have write permission in the new folders.

* Or the FTP user if you have FTP enabled in the Site Global Configuration.

What would be the correct syntax to type in the upload path box? When I remove the drive letter from my path it does allow me to upload a file but it does not put it into the correct folder.

Hi mike80925,

I would expect it to be something like:
www/joomla30/components/com_chronoforms5/chronoforms/uploads/
but the www/jooomla30/ part depends on your site settings. I think that the final / is needed, not sure about the one at the beginning.

Hi Bob,

I have this kind of issue.

If I set the path like "images" or "images/comprofiler/A" it works fine, but "images/comprofiler" don't work.

This don't make any sense to me :/

Hi Bn,

Nor me - have you checked the permissions on the images/comprofiler folder?

Hi Bob,

Yes I did, I got to put the permissions 777 and the result is the same.

Hi Bob,

Another weird thing happened.

Like I said before "images/comprofiler/A" works fine, so I created other folder called "UT" but "images/comprofiler/UT" don't work.

Both folders have the same permissions, I double checked it.
