Form in Module changes mail address (mail cloaking not activated)

Aeger 22 Apr, 2014
Hi everybody,

(yes, I know... Joomla 3.2 is being prepared in the background at the moment and will be online within the next weeks)

I love ChronoForms but today's the day I really got mad🙂
I did a simple and small "Newsletter registration" form with just a custom object (only one sentence text in it) and an E-Mail Field. I've put this small form into a custom module with {chronoforms}form_name{/chronoforms} and it displays correctly.

But when I enter the e-mail address it shows an error in the thanks message, saying: "Language string failed to load: invalid_address". I have activated "required" for the mail field. After submit the address keeps being switched to an address without "@" and ":" (example: abc@defg.com switches to "abcdefcom" in the Mail I receive from the form).

I checked the e-Mail cloak plugin which is NOT activated so this can't be the reason. I had found this here in the forums as a reason for the majority of this kind of problems.

You can find the form here (left "Newsletter abonnieren"): http://foconis.de/index.php/aktuelles/foc-newsletter

Feel free to test, I've set the results going to my private mail account.

When I put the form into an article it works all fine - but not for a module😟

I hope you can help me out.
Thanks a lot and sorry for my crappy English😀

Hi Patrick,

The form data is submitted correctly so something else on your site is 'sanitizing' the result before it gets to ChronoForms. Do you have any 'Admin Tools' component installed - or anything else that might helpfully be doing a clean up for you?

We have seen this once or twice before but I forget which setting/extension was doing it.

Hi Bob,

thanks for answering.
The funny thing is that I have more than 20 forms activated at the moment - none are showing that kind of beheavior.
Must be something related to modules. When I imbed the {chronoforms} tag into an ordinary article it works fine.

I checked every plugin and module but I can't find any "special" extensions.

Regards

HI Patrcik,

By all means email or PM me the site URL, the form name, and a SuperAdmin login and I'll take a quick look.

Bob
