Manual for Chronoforms5

Positivo 08 Apr, 2014
Hi there,

I have this form ready: http://www.tweelijners.be/index.php/onder-constructie

But it doesn't safe to the database and I recieve an empty email.
It might be handy to have a manual to look things up, a lot of the stuff in Chronoforms is intuïtive (I couldn't have made this, otherwise). But some details are puzzling. When I create a database tabel, I get the message 'table not created' (or something like that). I can't work with such message :-)
I looked al over the internet but could only find manuals about version 3 and some demo's on youtube.
Is there any way to get a step-by-step walk through the options and how to react to error messages?
It looks very slick and powerfull, but I need more details to have a working form.

thanks for any help,
Hugo

Hi Hugo,

What exactly is the message you get when you try to create a table - I don't see anything in your form that I would expect to cause an error.

You need to create a template for the email to include e.g. {Atrick3} where you want to include values from the form.

There is no manual but Max has added several FAQs on CFv5 - have you seen those?

Hi Hugo,

Sorry, I have no suggestions for the table creation - Max may have better idea what is happening.

For the email, use the Dynamic To box on the Advanced Settings tab.

It's never easy, is it?
I tried all I could inside the advanced tab, but not once did it work for me.
In the simpliest way, I do the fieldname in the Dynamic To box (what is logic to me):
http://snap.ashampoo.com/9X3zLmto
but (after save) when I fill in a new form it doesn't show me an second email address. When I remove the address from the basic tab and put that one in the Dynamic tab, I get an error saying that I should at least one valid e-mail address.

Getting somewhere is never a straight line. I tried to make a databasetable myself and succeeded. Removed it all (because it did not get filled with data). Today I tried again from withing chronoforms and the databasetable was succesfully created! Yeah!
All the fields are there, ready to be filled with data...
But now the form doesn't work because the Mailer Error: Could not instantiate mail function.
Don't know if you can see this: http://www.tweelijners.be/index.php?option=com_chronoforms5&chronoform=Belgische_balletten&event=submit
Both emailaddresses I want to send to are there, but in the toppart were yesterday the emailaddress, now it says: [Itemid] =>

Any idea?
If the mailfunction works again, then we are finished :-)

Hi Positivo,

Please remove the curly backets. I'm not sure if you can use both the Static and Dynmaic To Email addresses at the same time.

I swear I didn't touch a thing, and yet it works now. Even with both static and Dynamic.
Now I can finetune the css and I have my precious thing ;-)
Thanks for sticking with me and all my questions!
