Multilanguage form

eventra 28 Mar, 2014
Hi,
I've a multilanguage site (joomla 2.5.19 with chronoform 4.0.1) and I would that my forms are auto translated when I select a language to the joomla plugin.
Where I insert the various translations for labels text , buttons ecc? There is a tutorial on how to create a form multilanguage?

Thank you very much

Hi eventra,

I copied this over from another thread.

In CFv4 you can use the Multi Language action (one copy for each language) at the beginning of the event where you need to translate text.

I recommend that if you use this you use distinctive text strings in your form where you want the text to be translated - that way it is very clear if a translation is missing.

Then add the source string and the translation in each of the Multi-Language actions. Here's an example
##status##=Form Complete?
##tick_tooltip##=Tick ONLY when the form is complete - you will not be able to edit the form after this
##Submit##=Submit Formative Assessment Report
##School area##=School Area
##School##=School
##Choose_school##=Select Partnership School
##status##=Ffurflen wedi ei chwblhau?
##tick_tooltip##=Ticiwch yn unig pan mae'r ffurflen wedi'i chwblhau - Nid oes modd i chi olygu'r ffurflen ar ôl hyn.
##Submit##=Cyflwynwch eich Adroddiad Asesu Ffurfiannol
##School area##-Ardal Ysgol
##School##=Ysgol
##Choose_school##=Dewiswch faes Ysgol

Hi Bob,
thanks for the reply.
I've read the post that you have pasted me. But I don't understand how use the multi language action, how to activate it, and where I add the strings of your example.

Thanks

Hi eventra,

The post tells you where to put the actions and they only have two boxes in the configuration so it's pretty easy to work out what goes where. I'd suggest that you try it out with a test form.

Hi Bob,
probably is pretty simple, but I don't see any multi-language action.
I don't understand nothing by the posts above. Can you be more precise?
p.s. I've done hundreds forms of all types with your component and I've never done a multilingual form.
Thanks

Hi eventra,

In CFv4 it's the Multi Language action in the Utilities action group.
