Hello, just installed latest component and Mambot (for J1.5) on a Joomla 1.5.3 site running in legacy mode. Install said successful, on both, but I can't access the Chrono Forms Component from the Component menu. I see the two menu items. "Forms Management" and "Menu Creator" but when I click them, I just get a blank screen.
I did publish the mambot, and even manually installed the updates.
I see some mention in the forums and tutorials about the configuration tab, but that's not showing up. I'm running Community Builder if that's an issue.
I was reading through the forums and think I spotted something about configuring the data base the first time, but lost that link and can't find it again. I'm sure it's something I'm not doing right, but I have no idea what that could be. Thanks for your help in advance.

Hi quinrrp,
That sounds to me like a faulty install.
Uninstall ChronoForms from the Joomla admin; remove the administrator/components/com_chronocontact and components/com_chronocontact folders and all files in them from your site.
This shoudl do it, but if not then . . .
You may also need to delete any jos_chrono_contact... of jos_chronoforms... tables from the database; and possibly to remove the chronocontact record from the jos_components table and clear the mysql cache.

I'm having the exact same problem. I bought the $25 edition of the software, received the licensing email, and installed everything correctly. Joomla said it installed correctly and I can see the component in the component drop-down menu. My problem arises when I try to click the component. I get a blank screen also.
Its really frustrating.
I'm having the same problem with the "Add Attachements" component. All of my other components are working perfectly. These two are the only not working.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled 10 times... no changes. I've gone into the server and manually deleted the files under "components" and under "administator". I checked the MySQL server and there are not related files to delete.
I'm running Joomla 1.5 in Legacy, PHP 5.2, MySQL 5.0
Please help.

Hi jfidler80,
We've seen very few reports of this problem recently.
Please make sure that you are using the latest release of ChronoForms as there was a fix for this problem in the last release or two.
For the old bug - disabling GZip compression in your site Config was an effective workaround so you could see if this works for you?

Disabling the GZIP fixed the problem. It allows me to access the component now. Since this isn't the idea fix (only a work-around)... when can we expect this bug to be worked out? I ultimately want to have GZIP enabled and don't want to have to turn it on and off in order to access the forms component.
Hi jfidler80,
Please make sure that you have the most recent version of ChronoForms because, as far as I know, this bug has been fixed and we've seen next to no reports since the last release.

I'm using the latest version available under the Download section for Joomla 1.5. Unless there is a secret location being used to make it difficult to find the latest version to download... I'm using the most recent.
I've installed, uninstalled, reinstalled, uninstalled, reinstalled... about a dozen times. I've cleaned out the files manually, I've checked the database for files. Everything is good and the way it should be. Problem still persists.

Hi jfidler80,
OK, thanks for checking. I think this is one for Max to take a look at when he's next here. He may need to access your site to take a look. I simply have no idea what might cause this.
Bob
PS It might be worth dropping Max a note on the contact form as he's been working on a new release and hasn't been on the forums much recently.
