Hi,
I have secured my site by password protecting the directory /adminstrator. But now when accessing the form http://www.fritzagency.com/kleinlizenzen/anfrageformular the user is also being asked for the password. Why?
It is possible to fill in the form by ignoring the password request, but it is not very nice.
Kind regards,
Nicola

Hi nicolafw,
ChronoForms uses some files in both the admin and the front-end and the way it is set up the shared files are in the administrator folder. You can probably get round that by excluding the administrator/com_chronoforms folder and sub-folders from the password block.

But I do secure all my Joomla Sites like this and never came across this problem.
Sorry, this was not very clear. I always secure the /administrator with a password. I have implemented chronoforms before and there was never this problem (you might remember http://overall.ch/index.php/overall/bestellformular). It is a bit laborious to secure all the single files and directories. Or is there a way to exclude files directly in the .htaccess file? (Sorry, if this is a very stupid question, I'm more on the css side than on the php side)
Hi Nicola,
Sorry, I haven't seen this before and have no suggestions. Is this the same webhost as the other sites?

Hi Nicola,
Then it seems most likely something has changed with the website hosting setup. I have no idea what that might be.

Would it help, if I uninstall and the reinstall Chronoforms? Or will I lose my forms?
Hi nicolafw,
I don't see how uninstalling and re-installing ChronoForms would help but you can try. Backup all your forms and the CF related database tables first though.

Hi Bob,
I have updated the other Joomla-Website with a chronform-form from 2.5.16 to 2.5.19 (same host) and now here also the form is asking for the login. This did not happen before.
Do I really have to password-protect every single file and directory in tha /administrator?
Regards from Zurich
