You have entered a wrong verification code!

I have experienced this error in the past, and again recently. Sporadically, the captcha will fail even when the correct code is entered. Sometimes it works properly and consistently, other times it consistently fails.

My most recent encounter with this is w/ Chronoforms V5 on Joomla 2.5.17. I added about four forms and got them correctly working and captcha was working just fine. The next day I was testing the forms and this false "wrong code" error was consistently happening... very frustrating.

In the past, I got around this by using ReCaptcha... and that's just what I did again this time. Fortunately, V5 just gained the ReCaptcha capability... whew!

I believe there is a bug here and it would take some debugging to find out what's going on, but alas, I don't have the time to do it... unless somebody wants to finance the debugging.

Do you have cache enabled on the website ? if you do then please set the "relative url" setting to "no" under the "html render form" action, or disable the cache!

Cache is not enabled. I never run my Joomla sites with cache enabled.

Ok, could you please try the "recaptcha" or the "security question" actions ? check if they have the same problem or not ?

It appears ReCaptcha does not have this problem.

Are you attempting to reproduce the captcha problem? ReCaptcha is a work-around, although IMO the text is less user friendly than the captcha codes.

I'm trying to know if the problem is related to sessions, which is used in both the captcha and the security question, or to the image generation script in the captcha only!
