Chronoforms and SSL's

luxhodge 31 Jan, 2014
Hello everyone.

I am using Chronoforms v4.0.4 on Joomla! 3.17. I recently added an SSL to my site to protect user data transfer on all my forms. I used the code snippets on this site to force the forms to SSL: http://rselvakumar.blogspot.com/2012/07/chronoform-force-ssl-solved.html. However, if I don't use a direct link to the article like https://mydomain.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=XX, the forms are not shown as being in the SSL. They are just open. Does anyone have any experience working with SSL's? I also noticed that once I go to the SSL, I don't pop back out of it again so the whole site is SSL. That is ok, but I was just wondering if anyone has any experience with that as well. Thanks!

Hi Erik,

ChronoForms does nothing to change SSL links, If you call it with an SSL URL then it will use that. You shouldn't need to do anything else. The only problem I recall recently was with a site where LiveSite was set in the Configuration PHP and this forced the paged to non-SSL - the fix is to remove the LiveSite setting.

Hey Bob!
Thanks for the quick reply. I looked at the configuration php file. LiveSite is set = ' ' which I assume means off. I guess I will just reference the forms with the https url and be good with that. More encryption is better than less at least in my book. Thanks again!
