How to configure Datepicker

peterswa62 21 Jan, 2014
I'm using the Datepicker for people to register their DOB, I want it set so they first select the year, then month and date. How do I set it so when they click on it shows the years first to select from to make it as easy as possible to use>

Hi peterswa62,

Which version of ChronoForms are you using?

I want people to select the year first.

Hi peterswa62,

If you use the Custom MooTools Datepicker action from the Power Tools group you can set it to Years View only I think.

PS To use that action you should link it to a plain text box element in the Preview tab and not to a datepicker element. If you use a datepicker element you effectively get two sets of configurations and possibly two datepickers on the same input.

Thanks but how do you link the custom Datepicker to a text control? On the preview of the text control do you configure the value setting to the name of the Datepicker or something?

HI petetreswa62,

You add a distinctive Class to the text element and add that to the Class box in the Custom MooTools DatePicker action.

Done as you say but still cannot seem to get it to work. I've included a copy of the form if you could look at it and see what's wrong.

Also can you use a JQuery datepicker.

Hi petetreswa62,

The form attachment didn't make it to your post and, yes, you can use a jQuery datepicker if you prefer.

Hi peterswa62,

I don't know what Max has permitted on the new forums, on the old ones we asked people to zip them or sometimes to add ,txt at the end of the name.
