Hi I am having trouble getting my emails to send. i made a contact form and it didnt send. i put on debug and it says email not sent.

so i downloaded the test form and ran it. the debug says email sent, but still i received no email.

so i turned on an email button on one of my pages. when i click it, it says You are not authorised to view this resource.

i tried logging in as admin and it still doesnt give me the email form.

help. where do i go from here??

thanks, Minnie Mouse

Hi Minnie Mouse,

It sounds as though your site isn't correctly set up to send emails. Check the Global Configuration | Server | Mail Settings.

If the test form says 'Email sent' then there are no errors coming back from Joomla. This can still happen if, for example, there is no mailserver, or faulty mail server settings.

If the test form says 'Email sent' and your Contact form says 'Email not sent' that suggests that there is also a bug in your form code.

Not much more I can do to help from here.

hi bob,
thanks for replying. i will post my solution here so it may help someone... it took a while to figure it all out.

1. in J1.0X if your global settings dont show the email buttons by default and then you try to turn one on, on a single page, you will get an authorisation error. (so i turned them all on). then sent an email and it worked.

2. with that established i then tried the sample form again and it worked.

3. i compared your sample form to my form and i had some text in one of the "special" fields. you didnt. i removed it and my form worked.

let me just say here that I love chronoforms. i install it on every site I build in Joomla. Part of what i love is how responsive the forum is.

thanks all!!
