smtp mail not sent - debug seems okay and has a sent status

laed@gmx.net 17 Dec, 2013
Hello,

My forms seem not to be able to send the results by email.

In this forum I have read all email and smtp related articles, but none solves my problem.
For testing I set up a simple form, 1 radio box with 2 choices. The first on-submit action is the email, but I have also tried the email[GH].

The debugger always show an "Email sent successfully" message. I have tested the Joomla mailing by sending a bulk email from the users component, which works.
I have also configured the site with gmail settings, bulk mailing is okay, but the forms refuses to send a mail.
Naturally I configured the mail action with the respective from-email-address.
The other Joomla mail settings, phpmail and sendmail, don't work (tested with bulkmail)
This is on a Debian 7.3 Apache system, Joomla 3.2.0, Chronoforms 4.0.4

Could you please give a suggestion how to get the email function to work for my forms ?

Hi laed@gmx.net,

With the help of another user I found a tiny but significant bug* in the Email [GH] action today; you can get the current version here if you want to test that again.

Bob

* I was, I thought, following the Joomla! docs and calling the Joomla! mail code correctly but it turned out that the code I used did not take account of the site mailer settings :-( Unfortunately, despite that it worked 99% of the time.

Thank you, after 3 days testing, this works immediately !
This is great. If you would like me to test another version feel free to contact me.

regards,

Edwin

PS. I would like to buy you a Beer, but then you have to come to Bad Bentheim in Germany.
