Please save your form first issue. 4.04/j3.2

johnlewisdesign 03 Dec, 2013
Hi guys

No matter what I try since 3.2 I cannot get this to bloody work. I've tried
Wizard
Custom

php5.ini adding
suhosin.get.max_vars: 2000
suhosin.post.max_vars: 2000
suhosin.request.max_vars: 2000

nada.

I'm almost ready to either change the message to 'thanks' instead of 'please save your form first', or uninstall altogether and move on. Site is live, looking amazing, but now I can't send a message without looking like I've done half a job😟

Any more options to think about please? I'm running 4.04 with 4.03 plugins.

The FAQ link I keep seeing posted is a 404. Frequently Absent Questions.

Additionally I'm on Heart Internet Reseller account, no sign of mod_security and pretty sure suhosin isn't there either. No errors apart from
Notice: Undefined index: in /home/sites/noneofyourbusiness.com/public_html/administrator/templates/isis/html/message.php on line 24
when error reporting set to maximum.

Anyone got any more ideas? I am almost through with it.

Thanks.

Hi John,

What exactly is the problem? Hard to help without that info.

There are a couple of places where you need to save your form: one is that the Test Form button won't work until the form is given a name and saved; the second is that the Email Template Generator similarly won't work until the form has been saved.

I've never seen that message (or one like it) mentioned in the forums here before.

Hi Bob, the issue was the title of the post.

I can make a form, publish it with ease, place it in the article using plugin code without fault, fill out the form. Hit Submit and I get my thank you page - but the recipient receives a message to 'Please save your form first'.

I am on latest Joomla 3.2 and 4.04.

Cheers,

John

Hi John,

In that case you probably haven't created an Email template - at least not since the form was saved.

Thank you Bob! I shall take a look at that now sir. You are a good 'un.

I think you're right. I can't, however, see any way to edit the Email side of things once made though. Is this by design? I am making the form again anyway, just thought I'd mention it.

thanks again,

John

Hi John,

Sorry, I don't understand your question. The Email template is fully editable any time you need to make a change.
