I have made a fresh installation of Joomla 3.2.0 for an upgrade from Joomla 1.5.20 which runs the ChronoContact form perfectly. Using ChronoContact 4.0RC2; MySQL 5.5.27; PHP 5.4.7 (no disabled functions); Google Chrome 31.0.1650.57m.
First I copied the original form named "contact" to the new Joomla site via HTML and selected the options as closely to the old ones as possible. When viewing the web site page only the article's text (HTML source code) of {chronocontact}contact{/chronocontact} displays in the position as specified by the module. No nice form as on the old system.
I stripped everything off Joomla and ChronoContact that I could. Disabled every 3rd party add-on, used the ChronoContact designer to make a 1-field form; turned off all the other form options - data processing, e-mails, anti-spam, etc.
Still, only the {chronocontact}contact{/chronocontact} is displayed.
No errors in PHP or on-screen. I do get an error if in Joomla admin when I click on View Form instead of the form name when I start a ChronoContact editing session. The PHP runs out of memory after a few seconds.
I've spent a lot of time looking at everything I can think of.
Any ideas of what to do next? Thanks.

There was a ChronoContact v3 for Joomla! 1.5 which I think is what you were using.
The replacement for that is ChronoForms v4 which runs on Joomla! 1.5 - 3.2 in slightly different packages.
There is also a simple form component also - rather confusingly - called ChronoContact for Joomla! 2.5-3.2 I think that is what you have installed.
There is no plugin for the new ChronoContact - which explains why it doesn't work. It may be possible to get a ChronoContact form to show in an article using one of the all-purpose 'content anywhere' Joomla! plug-ins.
If you do need a form in an article and your form requirements are anything more than basic then I suggest that you switch to ChronoForms.
