Chronoform trouble with backup/restore and moving forms

doe 17 Nov, 2013
Hi

I tried to generate forms + code with my home computer and upload them to my server at service provider.

Things went fine I was able to transport forms both ways and they functioned ok.
Both machines involved had the same version of Chronoforms.

Then I started to generate file upload forms. They worked in my PC but the real server at service provider did not copy the file / files. I minimized my form to single upload and submit button. At home works at the server not.

My home system is built around win7SP1Ux64, XAMPP 1.8.3 and Joomla 3.1. Server is running Joomla 3.2 and at least JCK stalled after the Joomla 3.2 update (I was a moron not to disable these 🙄 ).

The problem now is that trying to figure out what is wrong I made a backup of chronoforms, unistalled it and then reinstalled it.

Now of course old forms died but I was thinking of restoring them from my backup but now forms wizard refuses to load anything - the button to select file moves but nothing comes up.

I would appreciate if someone with more experience could point out how to find a solution.

Hi John,

Could you please show us a screenshot for the "the button to select file moves but nothing comes up." ? do you mean the restore forms upload button ? or something else ?

Regards,
Max

Hello

I am afraid I cannot send a picture of this problem anymore because I had to find a solution quite fast.

The Chronoforms form managers restore button did not work regardless if there were a locally created form or forms in the form manager. Clicking the button did not generate any response.

I asked a local Joomla hippie freak and he recommended to reinstall Joomla 3.2 because according to his opinion the fault I saw in Chronoforms was just a reflection of a really bad luck auto update install of Joomla 3.2

After fighting with backups, reinstalling Joomla and reloading the extensions - everything works now like a charm.

The moral of the story: Smoking gun is not always right.
