Remove ###spammer### posts

Hi Bob, Max,

a lot of the latest posts have this in the body.

is there a way to no longer have these presented in the posts as they are clutering the real posts. Maybe removing them at all.

We have to open them before we now they are spam.

Hi rodiusd,

Believe it or not, I do remove them all. I've just spent the best part of an hour when I could have been doing more useful things deleting about 60 posts from thirty dd spammers in the last few days.

Here's how it works at the moment: when I see a spam post I have a little macro that removes the post content and replaces it with ###spammer###; then every day or so I have a session removing them all from the Forum and from Joomla! and keep a log. The idea of the log was that it could be used to set up some blocking filters but Max has never implemented that.

Believe it or not it used to be worse; there was a time a couple of years ago when direct PHPBB3 login was enabled and we would get several spammers making 60-70 posts a day. When Max changed to require Joomla! login that improved a lot but recently the number of spammers has been creeping back up again.

Hi Bob,

will have to live with it. But if we already have an indication in the subject then we don't have to open it.

Hi rodiusd,

Hmm . . . I'll see if I can change my macro to do that.

Hi Bob,

thanks to think about this fastlane solution.

Hi rodiusd,

Done - I had to wait for a few more spam posts to test.
