Auto Login user (but not after first step)

Hi,

The problem here is that I require the user to login after he completed registration.
We have the auto login option in the joomla registration action.
I have 3 steps for my form, If I set auto login to yes user gets logged in after the first step itself as registration action is placed on the first step.

Is there any way I can log-in the user after the last step ?

I think that there's a separate Joomla! Login action. Would that work?

Will it work if I pass a md5 password ?
