Hi,

I'm following the tutorial to create a Joomla! registration form. I see that the username field is suggested as text box. Now, into that text box field I could type almost everything, 1 character only or 1000 and I can just set it to use only characters, numbers, etc...

How can I set that field (if possible) to insert at least 8 characters and only numbers and characters?

Any way? Thanks

Hi deltafidesign,

A 'Text Box' here is a single line text input, not a text area.

You can use Client and Serverside validation to check the value of the input; and please see this FAQ for one way to validate length.
