ChronoForms not showing in certain module positions

OlliMuc 21 Aug, 2013
Hi there!

Running the latest CF (V4) with module / plugins enabled on a J2.5.14 site on a new YooTheme.
CF works well if I put it either in an article in main position or as a module in sidebar-a/-b position (positions are specific to the theme, of course). As soon as I try to display a CF in main-bottom position, it pops up empty. I've tried using a custom module there, embedding the ChronoForm in the module text, which didn't work neither.

Other content in the same module positions works flawlessly.

Now, this seems to be a specific sort of problem caused by the combination of the theme with ChronoForms. I'm clueless and would appreciate any input on how to best tackle this problem and find a viable solutions ...

Regards,

Ollie

Help, anyone?

Using Joomlas debug mode, I've been able to identify one oddity: Whenever I place the ChronoForms module in a position which doesn't show the content, the logfile reads something like:

Application 0.000 seconds (+0.000); 0.73 MB (+0.731) - afterLoad
Application 0.124 seconds (+0.124); 6.23 MB (+5.497) - afterInitialise
Application 0.148 seconds (+0.024); 7.03 MB (+0.803) - afterRoute
Application 0.736 seconds (+0.588); 12.60 MB (+5.564) - afterDispatch
Application 0.760 seconds (+0.024); 12.92 MB (+0.326) - beforeRenderModule mod_chronoforms (FormABC)
Application 0.832 seconds (+0.072); 13.20 MB (+0.276) - afterRenderModule mod_chronoforms (FormABC)
Application 0.940 seconds (+0.108); 13.36 MB (+0.162) - beforeRenderModule mod_custom (Logo)
Application 1.024 seconds (+0.084); 13.36 MB (+0.005) - afterRenderModule mod_custom (Logo)

...

Application 1.900 seconds (+0.024); 14.70 MB (+0.022) - afterRenderModule mod_breadcrumbs (Breadcrumbs)
Application 1.908 seconds (+0.008); 14.69 MB (-0.004) - beforeRenderModule mod_chronoforms (FormABC)
Application 1.912 seconds (+0.004); 14.69 MB (-0.000) - afterRenderModule mod_chronoforms (FormABC)
Application 1.920 seconds (+0.008); 14.69 MB (-0.001) - beforeRenderModule mod_chronoforms (Contact)
...

Application 2.060 seconds (+0.044); 14.78 MB (-0.075) - afterRender

So, it seems like Joomla tries to load the ChronoForm twice - therefore not displaying it at all??
If I put the CF in a position where it shows, the first entry in the log (which is at the very beginning) doesn't appear - just the second one, displaying everything fine. Any suggestions on how to solve this? Other modules (Custom, etc.) don't cause this problem ...

Hi OlliMuc,

I've not seen anything like this reported before and there isn't any code in the ChronoForms module that would load it twice that I can see :-(
